Tips for on-page optimization to improve your search engine ranking

Content - the primary solution is to have unique content in your site. To put it simply unique content means something that should not have any other similar web copy. Now you need to put your keywords strategically into the body of the content. The best way is to put keywords in sub headings (if you can break the content into different parts or sections, you can have more options to use sub headings). However, make sure that you do not follow any pattern in using key phrases. You can also make some keywords bold (bold words suggest that you are emphasizing on the text). It is always better to update your content occasionally. Interlinking - Link the important landing pages from different pages with targeted keywords. It not only helps search engines to understand why you created that page but also help them to crawl internal pages. Navigation - Use simple (html) navigation link pattern. Meta Documents - even though major search engines tend to ignore them, meta doc...

Keyword On Page SEO Factors

I've said it before and I'll say it again: keywords are the gateways to your site and they play a huge role in on page SEO. Once you know what is a good keyword and how to do keyword research, then you can find the keywords which you should be using for your on page SEO. WordPress combined with a good free SEO plugin like All in One SEO Pack makes implementing most of the following keyword related on page SEO factors simple as can be, but let's take a look at where we need to make sure to effectively use our keywords. Keyword(s) In Title Tags - The title tag is the line of clickable text which appears in Google's SERPs for each ranking page. This is also the text which appears at the top of your browser's window in naming or identifying the page which you are currently browsing. It's important to work your best (most relevant, highest searched, lowest competition) keywords into your title tags as Google will consider this over most fa...

On Page SEO Factors

Time to move away from keywords to the other half of on page SEO factors. Some of these you may not have as much control over but are still worth knowing about. Age of a Site/Page - If all things are equal between two pages competing for the same keyword, Google is far more likely to rank a site from 2002 over a site from 2007 because in most cases the older site is seen as more authoritative. Now, if that first site hasn't been touched since 2004 and the 2007 site is constantly updated with fresh and unique content, then it's a different story. Individual pages work in the same way so this is just something to keep in mind. Internal Links - If you have a number of pages on your site like a blog with a lot of posts, and say that one post in particular has gained some attention and is ranking well on its own (maybe from a little off page SEO), by linking back to a second page on your site from that popular page, you have increased the power of that ...

Improve your marketing response

Below are some tips and ideas on how to use social media to build a strong, active and profitable e-mail list.   1. Subscription Form — Be sure to add subscription forms when possible to your social pages.  Make it as easy as possible for people to sign up.   2.  Incentive for Subscribing — Always offer people an incentive for subscribing to your mailing list.  A free report, free eBook or gift of some sort will help guide and encourage people to sign up for your newsletter.   3. Interact with Your Social Contacts — Always respond promptly to comments, questions and likes. Ask for people's opinions and ideas.  Making people feel important and appreciated will go a long way.   4. Post Teasers — Post little teasers for upcoming issues such as "Coming tomorrow," or "Releasing soon."   Snippets like this will heighten anticipation and generate more interest in your newsletter.   5. Sample Issu...

#1 Keywords for Article Marketing Success

You have heard that doing keyword research is essential to your article marketing success. In learning how to submit articles, it's crucial to learn how to properly use the keywords that you've compiled. This article will teach you what to do with your keywords in relation to your resource box.   There are two types of keywords that are in your list – the first is a shorter type that is 2-3 words long. This type of keyword phrase is one that you would like your website to get a high ranking for. In other words, when your target customers type this phrase into Google, you would like for your website to appear high up in the results list, ideally in the number one position.   The other type of keyword phrase is called a "long-tail keyword." Those are longer phrases, usually 3-8 or more words long, and they're ideal for using as part of your title and as the subject for your articles. These longer phrases are ones that you'd like y...

How to Choose a Good Password

I know that coming up with a good password can be difficult, so here are some guidelines to use.    Choose a password that is at least six characters long. This should be long enough to discourage a brute-force attack. Currently, the maximum password length on many Unix systems is eight characters, but if you want to add a few more characters to make it easier to remember, go ahead. Just bear in mind that anything after the eighth character will be ignored (so ``abnormalbrain'' is the same as ``abnormal'').    In general, a good password will have a mix of lower- and upper-case characters, numbers, and punctuation marks, and should be at least 6 characters long. Unfortunately, passwords like this are often hard to remember and result in people writing them down. Do not write your passwords down!   The license plate rule: take a phrase and try to squeeze it into eight characters, as if you wanted to put it on a vanity license pla...

Encourage Visitor Engagement on Your Website

One of the most important features for small business websites to possess is a properly implemented "hello bar". I believe this is extremely critical, as it tends to be what will directly affect how interested a visitor will remain once entering the site. This content management system can help guide your visitors to where they wish to go, is unobtrusive and is available in a variety of designs. Why let the most important part of a webpage go to waste?   So, we have seen that these plugins represent a handful of the most powerful means by which a small business can begin to expand in 2013. However, once the business begins to appreciably grow, it is always best to allocate these to a dedicated individual who can focus on how to improve and accentuate their effects.
