How To Back Up Your WordPress Blog Online

Blogging and blogs have been on the forefront for quite some time now. With
millions of blogs out there, covering a variety of topics, you can most
likely find one that appeals to your tastes. No wonder, weblogs are assets
to the readers and owners alike.

That being said, this is the Internet we are talking about here. Hacking and
cracking attempts on popular blogs is common. We have had our share of not
so pleasant experiences as well. Imagine losing control of your site and/or
its contents. So much hard work, so much time you put into it, all put at
risk. No one would like to lose such an asset.

Surely there has to be something that can be done to safeguard one's content
and hard work against such attempts.

Well yes, indeed there are preventive measures that you can take like
enhancing security. Choosing strong passwords, changing them often, adding
additional security plugins, etc. However, as is so often the case,
ironically, the only thing certain about security measures is that no
security measure is foolproof! So while you should do your best to enhance
your website's security, you should always take regular backups so that in
the event of any such attempt you don't lose all the content that makes your
site what it really is.

There are a number of plugins available to back up your WordPress blog. One
that is particularly interesting and feature rich is called "Online Backup
for WordPress". First lets see how you can install and configure it.

The following applies to the first version of the plugin only.

When we first started using WordPress to power our own website earlier this
year we were pleased to see that there were a few plugins available to back
up our site but disappointed that none of them offered true online backup.

Blogging is big business and if you've invested hundreds or thousands of
hours writing blog posts you need to have the proper systems in place to
ensure that something as simple as disk failure at your web host doesn't
mean all your work is lost.

To help the blogging community we're giving a way a free plugin with 50 MiB
of free space on our secure servers.
5 Steps to Total Protection
Step 1: Download the plugin here. -

Step 2: Upload the plugin to your blog using the Plugins > Add New > Upload
feature in your WordPress Dashboard.
Step 3: Register for your 50 MiB of free space on our backup portal.
Step 4: Configure your plugin to enable encryption and provide the login
details of your online account by clicking Change Settings on the Tools >
Online Backup page.
Step 5: Schedule your backup by clicking Change Schedule on the same page!

Your WordPress database is now protected! You can then proceed to login to
our backup portal to manage and download your backups.

Where can QR Codes be placed?

Where can QR Codes be placed? The answer to this is almost anywhere! QR Code printing can be done in newspapers, magazines, brochures, leaflets and on business cards. Further to this they can be put on product packaging or labels, or on billboards or even walls. You could even tattoo a QR Code on your body - now that would be an interesting take on giving a girl/guy your number in a bar! You can use QR Codes on a website but they should not generally be used as a substitute for an old-fashioned hyperlink because obviously the user is already online and doesn't really want to fiddle around with their phone only to find a website they could have just clicked through to in half the time. What Is Internet Website Content?

What Is Internet Website Content? Content is made up of multiple elements, and is primarily the; * On-page visible text * Images and image Alt text * Anchor text in hyperlinks to internal or external pages * Hyperlink titles in links and menus * The descriptive Title and Description meta-data In the context of Google, a picture is NOT worth a thousand words! Moreover, words must be accessible, not embedded in images or Flash movies, JavaScript, slide shows etc. In 15 years as an SEO consultant, if there's one common denominator evident on websites, it's that there is a profound reluctance to expend time, money, and creative energy on unique text content. Brevity is the watchword - economical use of words is encouraged by design, branding and marketing advisers! * The branding gurus want you to use the textual equivalent of sound bites - bullet points and short sentences! * The website designers want the entire content of the page to be above ...

Get More Visitors to Take an action When visiting your Website

When you start out in the blogosphere, there are two words that you hear over and over again. 1. Content - Because let's face it, if you're not writing anything, your blog is going to be pretty lonesome 2. Traffic - The rationale being that if no one is visiting your content, you can't do much, including make money I'd like to toss something out there though that not a lot of people seem to talk about, and that's quality in your content and in your traffic. You see, if you are blogging for any particular reason, whether it's to build your brand or to fill your wallet, you need to build a community of people who will actually support your content, click on your affiliate links, and buy your very first e-book. Right? The two modes of blogging Now, there are two ways that people strive for that goal. The more predominant way is to play the blogging game as if you were a commercial fisherman. The commercial fisherman uses gigantic nets, and ...
